Daily Rules are a calculation rule for a 24hr window of time. A daily rule carries the bulk of how time will calculate on a particular day. An unlimited number of Daily Rules can be created, these are then assigned to a Schedule, and the Schedule is then assigned to Employees.
Break Times:
Min. time worked before Break calculation:
An employee must work this minimum amount of time before the break rule comes into effect. Enter a value in hours:minutes as per your Award or EBA.
Tea Break 1:
Define this break if you need a Tea Break calculated before the Lunch Break. Typically this would be a paid break.
Lunch Break:
Define this break if you need Lunch Break values calculated. Typically this would be an unpaid break.
Tea Break 2:
Define this break if you need a Tea Break calculated after the Lunch Break. Typically this would be a paid break.
Breaks are taken in the order of Tea 1 then Lunch then Tea 2. A value in the Time Allowed field indicates that the break is expected to be used or calculated.
Flexible:
Checking this indicates the break will not happen at a fixed time.
Start Time:
If Flexible is deselected then you can define a start and finish time if this break should be taken at a certain time of day.
Paid:
Check this box if this break is Paid and the employees will be clocking on and off for it.
Time Allowed:
Entering a value here indicates this break calculation should be factored in to the shift calculation.
With Paid enabled, the employee can clock on and off for the Time Allowed value and no time will be subtracted from their total hours. Time taken in excess of the Paid Time Allowed will be subtracted.
With Paid not enabled, the employee can clock on and off for the Time Allowed value. If the employee takes a break less than the Time Allowed, the full value of the Time Allowed will be subtracted. If the employee takes a break longer than the Time Allowed then the extended break time will be subtracted. If the employee doesn't clock on or off at all then the Time Allowed value will still be subtracted.
