Schedules menu - Weekly Rules

Weekly Rules are adjustments to overtime worked at the end of each week.

To create a New Weekly Rule, go to Schedules | Weekly Rules, and click on New >>>

Then choose a unique Code and Name for the Weekly Rule.

More details can be added in the Description window, if desired >>>

You will then need to set the Weekly Rule limits.

Weekly Limit: This is basically a maximum limit that allows you to pay at a higher rate after a set number hours have been worked.

In the above example, after 40:00 hours of ORD time has been reached in a week, all extra time will flow to OT1.5.

Then after 5:00 hours of OT1.5 has been reached, all extra will flow to OT2.0
Since there is no Flows to Rate for OT2.0, this Weekly Rule will cease to add time to the timesheet
once 10:00 hours at OT2.0 is reached.

The timesheet would look like this >>>

So, although Bill Smith worked 10:00 hours at OT1.5 on a Daily basis, the Weekly Rule has adjusted his total OT1.5 to 5:00 hours,
as shown above.

Weekly Clawback: This is basically a minumum limit that ensures overtime is not paid until an employee has accrued a minimum number of hours at a lower rate.

In the above example, OT1.5 will not be paid until the minimum of 38:00 hours ORD time has been reached for the week.

And OT2.0 will not be paid until the minimum of 5:00 hours OT1.5 has been reached in the week.

The timesheet would look like this >>>

So, although Bill Smith worked 2:00 hours at OT1.5 on a Daily basis, the Weekly Rule (Weekly Clawback) has adjusted his total OT1.5 to 0:00 hours and added them to ORD time, as shown above.

Both of these features - Weekly Limit (maximum) and Weekly Clawback (minimum) can be turned off by unchecking the relevant boxes.
